wow. if you add up all of the benefits, base pay etc. they are 6 figure employees and technically work part time in comparison to other professions. My point exactly. They have a better retirement than our military and federal government employees. Military is eligible for the GI bill... teachers have to pay for their own degree. There sure as heck isn't anything called "teacher housing" and no food provided for teachers outside of some sort of PTO event. Also, the Military gets (albeit crappy) VA, teacher's insurance ends with their service. Apples and Oranges. I'm just comparing retirement plan to retirement plan. I didn't mention any of that other stuff.
