If you could own hunting land in any counties in Alabama, which ones would it be. Which counties do you think have the best genetics, population, etc.?

Cherokee, Jackson, and Chambers. Just my personal choices

Wilcox, clarke, dallas, parts of butler & monroe ,sumter ,marengo all the black belt counties have proven to have the best genetics only thing is now hogs have taken over

I'm beginning to think that Game Check represents where most hunters are, not necessarily where most deer are. There's just no way that Jackson has that much deer density.

I'd probably have to choose something in that Montgomery to Selma path.

I agree. That was a huge surprise to me. I doubt you'll have any really high deer numbers there. Like seeing 40 deer a hunt. And there are places in Alabama where that's possible.

I consider myself a southern hunter. In years past, I have hunted all over the state and have found that I do not care for the north Alabama topography, there is nothing like shooting at them under the Spanish moss.

Any black belt county with a river running through it gets my vote as well.

St. Clair County. their are monsters but they are within privately held, un-hunted lands.
