I do it too. I'm not as consistent as I would like to be. I was using Pro Hunters Journal. It's an online deal, but they have so few users that I was afraid they might fold up and my journals would be lost. So I'm in the process of moving everything to my hard drive with MS Works Word Processor. I can attach photos also. Even though I add the moon phase, I mostly use it to record the day. I note as much detail as I can. Some of them are pretty short. If I'm lucky, they can be fairly long. It's just a way of remembering the day for me. I enjoy writing them. I've been trying to go back retroactively and making journals from years past. It's amazing what I forgot. That's why I try to keep current. I make short notes on my phone while in the woods if I think I might forget, and transfer to word processor files after I'm home.

I just enjoy hunting, that sounds like a lot of work and time. It can be a lot of work for sure. That's why I'm behind. But I can usually find a few minutes at some point to catch up. I imagine I spend less time on it than some spend on here though.

I just enjoy hunting, that sounds like a lot of work and time. There are some folk out there that get a kick out of data collection. To them it’s fun, not work. I’ve kept spreadsheets of data from hunts for a couple seasons. It’s cool stuff. I think I’m going to transition to pen and pad this year. I can always manually import the data to google sheets or whatever at another time.

I just enjoy hunting, that sounds like a lot of work and time. It flat out is a lot of time and effort. My cousin and I hunt together regularly. At the end of every hunt, we share all about what we saw. We don't hide any details whether on private or public land. The discussion keeps things fresh in my mind so when I go back home and write up my notes, its all easier to remember. It take the better part of 2 hours to get it all done, but not necessarily 2 consecutive hours.

What day am I guaranteed to kill a bigun? On my place during a quarter moon phase. I love data, numbers, excel, etc. past 2 years I haven’t tracked data but I have many years in the past. I know in the last 5 years our lease has produced 5 bucks within 24 hours of January 8th. I’ve killed 2 of those. I take 1-2 days off now every year for those dates. I hunt a BUNCH (4 sits a week on average) but the 8th is just a hot day for some reason.
