For me it is the Zeiss Conquest. Even if it is discontinued.
The old Zeiss Conquests that had lenses made by Meopta, mechanical components made by Zeiss, MC coatings on the lenses and were being assembled in the USA were a hell of a scope for the price. There was a time you could get them for around 400 bucks. I still kick myself for not buying more of them back then. This. After several failures with an old Simmons I walked into Mobile Shooting Center, circa 1998, and told them I was looking for a Rolex. They didn’t take me to the Diavari but the Conquest MC. That scope still rides my boat paddle Ruger M77 30-06. It’s the only go-to combo I have when failure is not an option.
