The old Zeiss Conquests that had lenses made by Meopta, mechanical components made by Zeiss, MC coatings on the lenses and were being assembled in the USA were a hell of a scope for the price. There was a time you could get them for around 400 bucks. I still kick myself for not buying more of them back then.



This. After several failures with an old Simmons I walked into Mobile Shooting Center, circa 1998, and told them I was looking for a Rolex. They didn’t take me to the Diavari but the Conquest MC. That scope still rides my boat paddle Ruger M77 30-06. It’s the only go-to combo I have when failure is not an option.
