When GUS didn't let him go in for the situation in which there was probably a predetermined package for he may as well told Gatewood get on down the road.

Be the starter for a decent FCS school for two years and see how it shakes out with the NFL draft after senior year. No year long waiting period and if he progresses he will have a shot at the league. FCS may not be on national television every week but he will have chances to play FBS schools occasionally and he can still advance his career if he is NFL caliber.
