Do the new trucks not have a gas cap? So it is just the metal cover they use? Yep no gas cap. Fords are the same way. I have an 18 Silverado and a 14 Ford Focus neither have has caps. I have not had any issues with either of my vehicles. By the way that’s my last Ford purchase. I’ll buy strictly GM products from now on. I personally have never owned a Toyota and probably never will. If you always do what you've always done you always get what you've always got
