Always heard the system deactivates when it has a trailer hooked up. Might could just put a cut trailer lights plug into the receptor and work it that way. Kinda silly but should work It will but it will also deactivate reverse sensors, blind spot monitoring systems, and remind you every single time you fire it up that a trailer is connected, and the aforementioned are disabled. It will work, but not ideal.

$100 to remove a factory option. Crazy.

Many options. That product will work, Forscan will work, and there is also a wire lead and connector coming off the negative terminal that can be disconnected. This disables the "smart" battery monitoring, which will also disabled the engine start/stop. from someone smarter than me: "Disabling the current sensor turns the battery state-of-charge management off, effectively returning the truck to an "old school" alternator configuration where they simply chase voltage. This may mean a very minor drop in fuel economy, as well as potentially slightly reduced performance (since, with the SoC management in place, they can effectively disable the alternator at WOT, reducing load on the motor)". I don't think that's the best option, as you can go in with Forscan and disable JUST the auto start stop in the body control module, without affecting anything else.

Government emissions regulations are really starting to get ridiculous..........And then there's tractors... I've heard multiple stories about farmers having to have a "mechanic" come out to work on a tractor, and he shows up in khakis with no tools other than a laptop.......ridiculous is an understatement.

I know that it's probably not a big deal for most folks, but the idea that I could be on my land, working on my tractor, and not be able to turn off my tractor at the exact moment I want (regen cycle) pisses me off. I've got a tier III tractor for that reason. Sorry to derail thread

I’m just in the habit of hitting mine every time I crank it When did GMC start putting that on them? I have never heard one cut off at a traffic light. I know my 18 doesn't have that on it.

I don’t even have a key either. Now that’s what really pisses me off. I can handle the auto shutoff with a button. I can’t stand not having a truck key

You get to walk home with hypothermia?

It’s got a weird lil key for door that is. But what I like to do is park in my truck roll the key to middle position and listen to radio while watching to shoot a deer. Or my fob thing may be upstairs and I need run somewhere. Used to be I left key in my truck 24/7. Not anymore

Dr. B The car cuts itself off at a traffic light or stop sign and then turns itself back on when you push the gas. Kind of like a gas golf cart.
