Apparently my wife drove across the toll bridge in Foley a couple months ago and went through the toll by plate lane where it takes a picture of your tag and sends you a bill. We moved recently and didn’t get our registration switched over very quickly so the first bill for the toll bridge went to our old address and was never forwarded. Now here we are with a “second notice” in our mailbox that has a $45 “admin fee” tacked on it. So now instead of the original $7 we owe $52 for driving across a freaking bridge. What happens if I don’t pay this crap? I’ve got half a mind to send them the original $7 for using their bridge and tell them they can kiss my ass for the other $45.

I hate the "toll by plate" system. I would rather stop and pay a toll at a booth or get the thing that goes on your window and prepay a certain amount on the account if I know I am going to be using toll roads.

Would suck to have a warrant over $45. (Not saying thats what will happen) but that would be my damn luck

a lot of times if you just call and explain...they will waive the late fee. I've had it done a few times. just tell them the truth, can't hurt. it isn't like you're trying to get away by NOT paying it, seems like a reasonable situation that happens.

my humble opinion

Also agree. In Florida you typically get 3 "mistakes" before they levy fines and penalties. But, you voluntarily used their facility and I think it is still a private bridge. I don't know if they have the ability to suspend your license, but they can damn sure turn you over to a collection agency and that's probably worse.

not sure what the best way to handle them is but they shouldnt be on tv and gettn married and raisin kids

Why? Because he screwed up by not changing his address, you think those folks should be punished?

Call them and talk to them, and see if you can just pay the $7. Regardless, pay what you owe in an adult manner.

How much you reckon it would cost to ship 52000 pennies?

Plus the time involved in individually wrapping 52000 (or 5200) pennies yourself?

LIke I say way too often here....I really hope I don't hunt with/near a lot of folks on this website.

If you use USPS, you will have to mail it in three packages of about 70 lbs each @ +/- $48 per package from Rockford AL to Foley AL.
Figure you can wrap 15 pennies a minute, so about 58 hours or 7 strait days of 8 hours per shift with a lunch break.
Plus the $520 cost in pennies.
So total about $670 and 7 days of your life.
I'll throw in the box and the foil if you video it for us laugh

I called them and spoke with probably one of the nicest ladies that I've ever dealt with in customer service. She got me dropped down to $12.95 which I gladly paid over the phone. No rolling pennies for me.
