Public land is probably the only this the government has done half ass right. Problem I see with selling it off is it will go to the rich and mighty corporations that will eventually cut us peasants off. People will trash it like usual and enough will be enough and since it will be under private control it will be easy to just shut it down to the public. Just like so much of it already has.
