Looking to pick up a set of clubs for both of my boys. Not sure if I should hit up the local Golf Galaxy, Dicks (sorry I wrote their name), Amazon or something else. Do I buy the clubs based on the kid's heights or something else? Does the quality of the clubs matter much to children? My youngest is only 6 so I don't think it'll matter much, but the older is going on 11. Cost isn't a huge factor, but I'd rather not spend a ton on something they'll only have a little while (until they grow out of them).
Appreciate the feedback if you have the time to offer it up.

Buy them both used clubs and then take them to pro shop and have them cut down to fit. Try and find something forgiving with a large club face and not blades. Good luck and have fun!

11 yr old can probably swing a regular flex club. you may have to buy a youth set for the young buck. As others have said find a used set and cut them down.

I’d get them something middle of the road. I wouldn’t haven’t fitted perfectly. Just within reason since they’ll outgrow them before long. I personally wouldn’t trim adult clubs with the shafts they have. They’ll have literally no flex and it will negatively affect them. If you have any questions pm me. I’m very familiar with the stuff and play a lot.

Go to US Kids Golf. They have clubs with the proper flex and length for any child. I bought them for my grandkids and they developed into pretty good golfers.

Dad started me on lady’s clubs. Shafts are shorter and have more flex.

I probably should have added this. All club shafts come in a different flex and it depends on how forgiving the irons are. It’s not one size fits all.
I’ve probably have two thousand dollars worth of clubs and the bag invested. I just gave them to a buddy of mine that is introducing his ten year old son in the game. I said do what you want with them so he will enjoy it. Maybe some day I get back into it but just like the last ten years of my life right now I have a couple of hobbies I can afford and golf ain’t one of them.
