He didn't start because Ryan Tannehill was already the starter at A&M, and was chosen in the 1st round of the NFL draft in 2012.

You reckon Auburn has any first round qb's on campus that Bo Jesus is starting ahead of?

Gotta say, this is the first time I've looked at this thread since the game. I take my hat off to you jallen...you've managed to go full retard in record time.

Bo Nix is going to be a very goof QB for AU. But, he can’t be mentioned in the same sentence with Johnny when it comes to scrambling. Johnny was as slippery as a greased pig. Not even close!!!

Anyone know why Gus didn't go for two after the TD?

Cause he knew he'd call the wrong play and screw it up.

I still haven't figured that out even after the penalty. I think the score was 20-18(??). What's the difference in 20-18 and 20-19 in football? But there is a HUGE difference in 20-18 and 20-20. But if Auburn would have lost 20-19, that would have been THE storyline from week one and Gus's reputation would have sunk lower than it already is. Auburn won so it worked out and there has been no questioning it.

I've been wondering about that since he did it.
Maybe he was mad enough at Prince Wantogo
that he lost his mind. Or he had plans for a safety
later.lol He does stupid crap every now and then.

Come on 257. You know that daddy Saban is always way ahead of everyone. It was the end of the season, Saban knew the game was not going well and he probably wouldnt need the kicker again that season. Saban was so disgusted with his kicker's performance all year that he intentionally called that play to try to get him killed. He had no intention of it working, Saban just wanted to give that OLB and the DE a free shot to kill his kicker. Saban is not like Gus. He actually thinks everything through and plans accordingly with a clear vision of what he's tyring to accomplish. Usually works. This time, total failure, just like Bama's game plan that night. rofl

Every talk show on ESPN radio has been talking about that this week. Plus that Oregon had no business losing and was a better team. And the DB for Oregon would have intercepted the game winning touchdown pass if he would have played the ball instead of the receiver. Some even think that Tulane will give the sugar huddle boys a game this weekend. Hating on Auburn this week, Tennessee and the SEC.

The SEC deserves some ridicule this week. As a whole, it was probably the worst opening weekend in my lifetime.

I think it had more to do with the amount of time left. Seems like there was 5 minutes left, so if Auburn doesn't get the 2pt and Oregon scores again to make it 27-18 with probably less than 3 minutes you are really screwed. But 27-19 is still a one possession game. I think most of those guys go by a situation chart and the 1pt was probably the suggested call all along and when he got the penalty it was easier to go with the chart. If there was only 2-3 minutes left I think the 2pt attempt would have happened penalty or not
