They can't handle it. Our local reporter is over in Marsh Harbor feeding video of roofs at fish camps getting blown away. Under water and major damage to buildings and infrastructure. That's expected for a cat 5 though. It looks terrible on our local station. Terrible destruction. Feel bad for folks losing their homes and businesses.

Look at the thunderstorms flaring up over the gulf coast side of Florida. Thats impressive. Only the biggest storms do that.

Yeah I’ve been watching it on radar and it’s doing it’s dang best to laugh in the face of the models and decide to keep jogging due west. I’d be a little nervous if I was on the eastern shore of FL.

Its turning, but it is gonna rake the east coast. Still better than a mainland hit from a big storm.

Somebody must have layed some bad voodoo on the Bahamas. I dont like the way this one is moving, it was supposed to turn, but it aint.

jeez..I was looking at the video online and people are getting hammered. Water up to the second floor, all windows blown out and no help coming. Prayers for them.

We love the Bahamas and have stayed from Abaco to Elutherea, Grand Bahamas to Nassua.

We actually got caught there in a mild hurricane on Green Turtle Cay about 20 something years ago and was stranded for 4 days just to get off that little island and to the island of Abaco..where we got stranded for another day.

We actually got married on Paradise Island in the Bahamas too.

Horrible devastation I would think going on. I hope the loss of life is minimal but those houses arent built for taking this sustained type of beating.

Even as slow as it’s moving right now I don’t see the trough coming out of the mainland US pushing that high ridge in the Atlantic enough to steer this thing north before making landfall. I just don’t see it. This thing is a monster.
