You can fish both saltwater and fresh, hunt deer on over a 1,000,000 acres of public land (110days) and just about every other critter you can think of for .26 per day.......STFU and go hunting. Seriously, you guys act like you have to have a degree in aerospace engineering to hunt/fish.......you sound border line rertarded

My only problem is that when I paid the money for my lifetime license, it said for all forms of hunting and fishing for the length of my life. Yet now they have decided that it really doesn’t cover all methods of hunting.

Its simple, if you want to hunt over bait, then pay the $15. If not, continue on the way you have been. Quit whining about it! Im sure yall waste a whole lot more money than that on other crap.

I’m not whining, just grew up in a time and manner where a person’s word meant something. I can pay the $15, but probably won’t since I have near 12 acres of corn planted just for deer. It’s just a principle thing to me. Happy hunting to all baiting or no baiting.

Last time I checked, you weren't being forced to buy this baiting permit unless you use bait.

Your think charging children or fining children is an effective way to promote the sport and increase hunter recruitment? You think teaching children to hunt over a pile of corn is teaching them hunting? Certainly not. Nor should it have ever been legalized under any circumstance, much less to greed. That is an entire different conversation. Now that it is legal, you certainly better bait or at the minimum increase feeding to be able to outcompete your neighbors.

I don't really see the point of this thread at all other than just an avenue for us to air out our gripes.
It has passed. It is now in effect. The stipulations are set. What is done is done.
Either you choose to buy the license and hunt over bait or you choose not to buy it and hunt without bait or hunt over it illegally or hunt by the previous regulation concerning baiting and supplemental feeding.
Don't forget that this new baiting privilege license regulation did not do away with the 100 yard, out of sight, by natural terrain or vegetation rule. It is still in effect. You can still hunt this way and not buy the permit. But it will still be up to your local game warden to decide if you are legal or not.
I think it's absurd to require kids under 16, those over 65, and lifetime license holders to buy this baiting privilege permit. Will our griping about it on a thread on Aldeer change anything now? Most likely not but I would like to think that someone at the State level reads these things.
My guess is we are just wasting time and energy typing out our gripes.

I predict that right around the start of gun season, it will be announced that CWD has been confirmed somewhere in northwest Alabama. Then they’ll suspend the “bait privileges”. Everybody that purchased the “privilege” will be screwed out of their $15 and fine for hunting over bait will double or triple.

They damn sure made sure that it's worded to give them that avenue.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

They supposed to be conservation experts. We have cwd knocking on our door and they think its the perfect time to legalize baiting for a fee? Conservation at its finest

Mic drop
Yeah, because a gas tax and a permit for corn for baiting are the same scenario
Same principle. You can hunt without aide of bait. You can also have transportation without gasoline. Both make it easier....
My point was to Ticka's you can hunt for ONLY $150.00 and your 26 cent a day remark, not to the necessity of it. So yes, every time the government adds a dollar here and a dollar there, it's the same scenario. People seem to be ok with just giving the government however much money tbey want. I am one of those people who bought a lifetime license many years ago and believe I should not have to give the state of Alabama another cent to hunt. Next will be special permits like blackpowder or archery permits they will.try to require lifetime holders to buy. For the record, I have never spent one cent to buy corn to feed a deer, not ONE. I have no intention to start now. My problem is with the fee. If it's legal, then it's legal and no new money should be required by the state for it. I'm sick and tired of people being extorted for cash by the government for their freedoms.
The true mark of a man is not how he conducts himself during times of prosperity, but how he conducts himself during times of adversity.
