truth be told, I really like the titans. They are thirsty just like Toyota but solid as can be. The thing that kills me with them is their resale. Don't get me wrong, they all depreciate, but going from one truck to the next I'd like to feel like I could trade it in and take a chip off versus starting all over again.

Some may run harder, but nothing's as comfortable as a Ford. 5.0 sucks unless it's in a Mustang or a Maverick...go with the 5.7, or whatever the metric equivalent of Ford's 351 is...

Dodge has horrible reliability. They’re really nice trucks with a lot of power, but have serious issues.

I hear this from people, but never see the issues on full size trucks. I have owned nothing but Dodge/Ram trucks since 1990, and never had any significant repair. Last gas burner went 245,000 before I sold it, and we currently own a 1500 Hemi and a 2500 Cummins.

In addition, I have multiple friends who own them who have similar experiences.

I don't worry much about resale value, as all trucks do decent, and I keep them a long time.

I hear this all the time. Usually from someone who hasn't owned one. I have owned 4 of the Ram 1500s, all were 4WD, now drive a Ram 2500 4WD with a Cummins. Before going Dodge/Ram, I had all Chevy.....C10, K10, S10, and Silverado Z71. Have not had serious issues with any of the Dodge/Ram trucks. Ex-wife drove a Jeep Liberty, at one time, and at one time I had a 2004 Jeep Wrangler, and there was also 1997 Cherokee. No major issues with any of them that weren't my own dang fault My Dad bought a 2005 Ram 2500 4WD with a Cummins, he changed from a lifetime of Chevy trucks..…….my Dad is now 81, and he still drives that truck. They ALL make a bad one from time to time. Even Toyota. I say you gonna be the one paying for it...…...drive what YOU want to drive!

I agree 100%.

We sold my dad;s 1987 Dodge 3/4 ton 4WD with over 400,000 miles on it after he passed. I think he did put a clutch in it at about 150,000, an alternator, A/C compressor, and a water pump over the years. I still see it driving around occasionally.

Ford doesn't offer a 351 in the f150s. In the current gen, the 5.0 is the only v8. Previous gen (up to 2014) they offered a 6.2. It is a beast of a motor but not particularly common.

With that said, the 5.0 Coyote motor in the F150s (2011+) is a bad dude. If it's underpowered, you need a 3/4 ton.

I got sucked into all the hype, traded in an F250 for a brand new Tundra. Hated it and traded it after 6 months for a Chevy 2500. Love the Chevy and just didn't understand all the hype about the Toyota because it was uncomfortable and had the least creature comfort features. The tundra was a limited and the Chevy is an ltz.

I just picked up a 2018 Nissan Titan Pro4x- used 2 months with 3K miles - loaded with all options for a little under $37K. It has a 5 yr/100K mile BTB warranty. The CPO (7 yr warranty) was also included since it was technically "used" by the dealer. I'm very pleased - plenty of power, gas mileage as expected. Seems to be very high quality.
I passed on my '07 F150 to my son (110K miles) and it's still going strong.
I wanted an F150 Lariat or Platinum but they weren't in my budget.
I took the ridiculous looking "PRO4X) stickers off the back fenders and it improved the appearance dramatically.
I think this truck is THE value pick right now (I don't plan on selling - don't care abt re-sale value)

The 2018 F150 5.0 I had did have lots of power most of the time. Sometimes, it would just seem to struggle going up and down the hills in BHM or when you were travelling 75 on open road and you punched the gas. Most of the time it was fine. May have just been the POS F150 that I had, it had gremlins throughout. I think the 3.7 EB has more HP and torque.

If you get the current 10 speed F150, test drive, test drive and test drive. I would recommend test driving in stop and go traffic or up and down a stretch of road with lots of stop signs or red lights. The issue I had with the 10 speed would really show itself in that environment. Also get speed up to about 50 and coast to about 20 and then accelerate. Trans would get confused and clunk up and down the gear tree. Gears 8-10 were fine.

I hear good things about the current F250's.

What did you not like about the comfort level of the Tundra hallb? I recently went from a Crew cab Tundra to a Crewmax Tundra. The Crewmax does not ride good at all and I'm trying to figure out why I'm hoping it's just the tires.

I agree. Like I said I came close to getting one and I think it will be a great truck.

seriously, I am driving one now and it's got more get up and go than the 2015 gmc 5.3 I traded out of. Gas mileage has been averaging 17-18 mpg which is pretty dang good for a truck leveled with tires.

They've brought back the 7.3 Gas Burner (of course it's in the 250 & Up) 😀

Mine was a crewmax too. I can't really pin point it, but I don't like how the Toyota's don't have any kind of footwell. The seats were just uncomfortable on longer drives. And the whole interior just felt cheaper quality to me. It could just be that I've been driving a duramax or a powerstroke for so long that I just couldn't get used to it.

The toyota sienna (van) and camry we had were both uncomfortable on long(ish) trips. The Tundra I test drove before getting my F150 was a little disappointing too. Not sure what it is about toyota's, but it seems to be brand-wide.

I've never driven or ridden in a Toyota that I thought was really comfortable, other than an older Avalon.

Not sure why, unless they are engineered for shorter people.

I will say, my '88 single cab 4x4 toyota was more comfortable to ride in than the 2008 I test-drove a few years ago. I don't know if it's because the seat was nice and broken in, or just angles it put your back/arms at when driving or what...........but it was honestly more comfortable to drive.

The Tacoma I had was uncomfortable. A 100 mile ride would beat you to death, and there is no room in them.
