Hank Parker shot a buck (on day 1, of a 3 day hunt) with a Rage 2 blade. They found the deer on day 3, over 1 mile away, and Hank still had the audacity to film the entry hole and brag about the impressive killing power of the Rage Broadhead ... and they aired the footage on his television show!

I hope he got a real good price for his integrity.

I like Hank. He's nice, down to earth, and a pleasure to spend time with. He's just trying to make a living. Of course, I'm sure I haven't spent as much time around him as you guys have. Next time you talk with him, discuss the costs of filming, producing, and airing a TV show. Discuss how it can be done without sponsorship money. I think it is a conversation you'll find enlightening.

As for the broadheads, they work. Most all broadheads work when you put one behind the shoulder. And like all other heads, they don't work very well when you don't put it where it's supposed to go. I have shot a few deer with a Rage, and never had bad performance. I've gotten big entrance wounds, and at least in my experiences, big exit wounds. They aren't my preferred broadhead, but they work.

I think the reason so many people like them is because they have had good experiences with them. I do find it humorous that the resident expert feels the need to chime in again about how bad they work even though he's never used them.

I shoot Muzzy Because they work.

I don't shoot Rage (or any mechanical) Because I am not an expert archer who can make the perfect double lung shot every single time.

I understand and appreciate the fact that almost any bullet or broadhead will kill a deer, with the correct shot placement.
I also understand and appreciate the fact that 100% correct shot placement is an admirable and lofty, yet highly unattainable goal.

First let me say that unlike most I was not that impressed with the above video. Horrible penetration. I don't care if it opens to 4 inches wide and makes a entrance hole that looks like a broadsword stroke. I like an exit hole because ,shooting from treestands, it's going to be the lower hole and the one that bleeds the most. Sure it doesn't matter when the deer goes down within sight. But if you think that every deer is going to drop in sight with this head or any other then I got some farmland in the everglades to sell you.

The other thing that mystifies me about the popularity of this head is this. For many years there was a broadhead on the market called a Snyper by Rocky Mt Archery. It was just discontinued this year. It is basically the "EXACT" same head as a Rage. Except, it had sharper stronger blades, a better more reliable blade retention system and cost waaaay less. Apparently they couldn't give them away.

Then a new company buys the design; changes the name to Rage; uses duller weaker blades; a less reliable blade retention set up; and doubles the price tag for a pack of three. Now they fly off the shelf and are considered the greatest thing since Moses came down off Mt Sinai toting the ten commandments. LOL! Strange.

"Excuse me sir would you like some of these Snyper broadheads for 20 bucks?" "No thanks." "Well what if we change the name to Rage and charged you 38 bucks?" "AW hell yeah. Give me a pack of them bad boys." LOL! Weird stuff.

The best index to a person’s character is (a) how he treats people who can’t do him any good, and (b) how he treats people who can’t fight back.

The highest priced items are always the best. Rocky Mt didn't have the best business plan.

As ridiculous as it sounds I don't mind their slogan "its like throwing an axe through a deer!" But the other slogan irritates me to no end "enlarge you kill zone!" Bow hunting requires precision to be successful, and you must choose your shots carefully. I don't like the message that mediocre shots are O.K. with our broadhead.
Poisonous tips enlarge your kill zone, that or a rifle.

Place a set of 4 bald truck tires on the curb and try to give them away ... nobody will stop.

Place the set of 4 bald truck tires on the curb and advertise them for $50 each and they will be sold the first day ... or stolen.
