Two Fl firefighters launch and disappear. Hopefully they'll be found OK. COAST GUARD SEARCH: USCG is involved in a search for 2 unaccounted for boaters who left Port Canaveral on Friday and failed to return. JAX firefighter Brian McCluney and Fairfax, VA firefighter Justin Walker were last seen as they launched their 22 foot Robalo from the boat ramp. https://www.yahoo.com/gma/2-off-dut...boat-182700542--abc-news-topstories.html

Best know what you are doing before you play in the big water.....hope they find them. Maybe they did know what they were doing. Bad things happen to experienced, smart people all the time.

that part of the Atlantic has a strong northern flow, they could be way north of where they launched. They ought to find them unless something happened.

This is why boats with only one motor shouldn't be used in the ocean. Troy they said the CG was searching from South Carolins South.

Every time we run to the rigs I have an uneasy feeling. And that's on a 38' center console with triple three's hanging on back. Plus a satellite radio and life rafts and experienced offshore fishermen on board. Expect positive results but be prepared for the negative ones that can happen at anytime way offshore.
Praying that these guys are rescued.

This is why boats with only one motor shouldn't be used in the ocean. Troy they said the CG was searching from South Carolins South. Nailed it Perch. Seperate fuel tanks/systems for each motor and seperate wiring, ignition and battery systems too. Only way to go if you're playing on the big pond. Electrical shorts, bad fuel pick ups, bad fuel, dead batteries. Too much can go wrong when you are way offshore....and it's a long paddle home when it does.

I run Waaaaay Offshore in the Gulf with a single engine Boat.....But Diesel Power! 30' Boat....5.9 Cummins....ZF Hurth transmission. But I know it mechanically like I know my own hands. Have tools....Spare:Hoses,Clamps,belts,fuses,Alternator,etc. on Board just in case!! And take extra fuel in case the Sea/Wind Conditions Cause increased fuel Consumption/Mile....

This is why boats with only one motor shouldn't be used in the ocean. Troy they said the CG was searching from South Carolins South. I'd much rather know they were wearing a pfd than have 2 motors as search and rescue team member... People are too proud/stupid to wear them and it usually ends bad if they're not. Almost every SAR case I flew on, we would spot PFDs near the scene but, they were always empty
