Y'all drink plenty of water. It's going to be brutal the next few days. I got a little taste of it Saturday splitting a bunch of firewood, and yesterday at a shrimp boil. Today, thank God, I'll be in the A/C on the 6th floor in my office.

Not outdoors, but I work in a mill that makes LVL. The temp. was reading 99° the other day inside. I really dread going in tomorrow.

I work in a steel mill. This time of year it’s 130+ inside there but to me it hotter being outside in the sun with it 95-100 degrees. Something about the sun will take it out of you

Yeah lawncare biz sucks this time of year. Seems like I can't drink enough water and Gatorade sometimes.

In Pelham today and tomorrow are supposed to be the hottest days at 95, the rest of the week is back down around 91 or 92 which is average for August.

Anything outside for me has to be done before 10 AM. I don't sweat on my right side so over heating is a real problem for me especially when the temps are like they are now

I'm seeing it’s supposed to be 98 today and tomorrow with a heat index of 104-109.

Yeah guys and gals please be careful in this heat. I haven't had a heat stroke but was really close suffering from severe dehydration. I had been drinking water all day but was sweating it out as fast as I was taking it in. Ruff to get over. Just watch yourself and co-workers

I can't make it more than about 20 minutes in direct sun/heat on days like this without a break. It's brutal doing physically demanding work in the sun with no breeze.

Dropped a shovel yesterday and the devil handed it back to me. You guys "who love summer" need to be on the red flag list (kidding of course).

I’m on a flat roof today patching it. It’s already past 100 up here. Tomorrow will be working on a deck where there is zero shade I hate this time of year

Yep...this is why cotton clothing in summer can be very beneficial. I know the performance fabrics wick the sweat away to keep you dry and cool, but I personally feel cooler in a soaked cotton long sleeve shirt. It does get heavy and that can suck. I have several cotton/poly 50-50 blend shirts that is really the best of both worlds....gets wet, keeps me cool but still wicks much away so it is lighter than 100% cotton. Drawers have to be performance though...nothing worse in summer than to have soaked drawers!

For the head...Stetson Airway Breezer is my friend!

Good luck to you guys. I'll take my summers up North before I head down to Alabama for the winter. I would take the heat over the cold any day.
