It’s true that, historically, union and dems go hand in hand. That being said, the dem party has moved into full blown socialism. There is, in the IBEW at least, a steady shift taking place. The old guys are being replaced and the membership is moving toward the right. Most of the union guys I know will stand flat footed and tell you they voted for Trump. I follow the IBEW FB page. It has moved more and more right to the point I’d say the majority are Trump supporters. Ppl are smart enough to realize that it’s a strong economy and job market that makes a strong union... not the other way around.

Life long conservatives like myself are becoming the norm instead of the exception.


Maybe, but it's not changing the way your union dues are being spent on political contributions. For the 2020 election cycle, the IBEW has thus far donated $236.5K (98%) to dems, and $5.5K (2%) to republicans.

Like I said...your vote doesn't carry nearly as much weight as your union $ contributions do. Those dues dollars work 365 days a year for the dems.
