The truth of the matter is that a person intent on committing murder will find weapons. Whether it be a handgun or a semi-auto rifle. This has been proven over and over all over the world. In many cases, the weapons have been full auto. People don't notice that a lawful citizen can own a full auto here by paying for a stamp or tax. How many, if any of those full autos have been used in crimes? Not very many. Another point no one seems to be talking about is the age of these mass murderers. You just don't see as many of this crime committed by mature males. In fact, remember the mature gentleman that used his AR to shoot the church shooter.

I agree 100%. While I agree our rights are to own guns, using the argument that we could use what we own to protect us from a tyrannical government is ludicrous. There are no civilian weapons and no amount of people that could stand against our government in war if push came to shove. You take the mandated rules of engagement off the table and Afghanistan would have been eliminated in a week without nuclear warfare.

I honestly have mixed emotions about AR's. I have tried to objectively watch the news and debates and it is clear to me that there is nothing less then the total confiscation of all guns that will be suffice to those calling for " Sensible gun control". If there is going to be anything that would make a difference then it would require compromise by both sides and a complete overhaul of criminal justice.
