Loss of life
Drunk driving claims 29 lives per day, more than 10,000 per year.
Distracted driving claims 9 lives per day — approximately 3,500 per year. I think a distracted driver is a little harder to prove than a drunk. You can blood test a drunk. You can pick up a phone and they may or may not have been texting. Could've been reading, looking at weather or maps. I don't think those stats you going by are as cut and dry as you think.
