I've been using onx for a few years. Seems to be accurate. It's gotten me out of some thick woods at night after trailing a deer also.

OnX hunt is a game changer when hunting out of state public land. So many times the locals like to keep their honey hole secret. Also very helpful for measuring distances.

Biggest DRAWBACK to any of the apps showing landownership is people hunting too close to property lines. If you wound an animal, there's no guarantee you're going to be able to retrieve it with permission. Especially an out of Stater... So, those so called honey holes could bite ya in the hinney

Another thumbs up for OnX. I don't know about Huntwise.

Planning a trip to Idaho right now and have been marking waypoints for access and developing a plan of attack. It could be done without OnX, but gosh, it makes it easy.

I've used it lightly in AL. Its handy when you get way back on public land and are packing out some meat and looking for a sliver of public access to pull you out.
