How old is the grandson?
When I was 16 my dad gave me a 20 year old truck. He said that was the only one I would ever get for free. My next one would be on my dime. I got a '71 Volkswagen Beetle with basically the same story... I saved my money from my construction job and bought a '66 Mustang fastback for $600, and never looked back. Of course now I'm big time I have a 2001 Ford Ranger 4x4 that I paid a whopping $4000 for. It even has a remote key fob that actually unlocks the doors. I think it's the first vehicle I've ever owned that automatically unlocks the doors for me.
