From the NWS ZCZC MIATWOAT ALL TTAA00 KNHC DDHHMM
Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 800 AM EDT Mon Jul 8 2019
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
1. A trough of low pressure located over central Georgia is forecast to move southward toward the northeastern Gulf of Mexico, where a broad area of low pressure is expected to form in a couple of days. Some gradual development is possible thereafter and a tropical depression is likely to form by the end of the week while the low meanders near the northern Gulf Coast. Regardless of development, this system has the potential to produce heavy rainfall along portions of the northern and eastern U.S. Gulf Coast later this week. For more information about the rainfall threat, please see products issued by your local weather forecast office and the NOAA Weather Prediction Center. Interests along the northern Gulf Coast and the Florida peninsula should monitor the progress of this system. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...high...80 percent.

It’s only projected to be a depression or tropical storm. That doesn't change how it's tracked by the NHC and other weather sites. Yesterday, spaghetti models had maps for it and this morning I didn't see any. Guess it petered out a bit overnight.

This an odd one in that it is actually a system moving N to S and then forming in the gulf. Not at all odd. Hurricane danny formed the same way. Usually they are smaller storms in size.

slippinlipjr , I caught some of the biggest shellcrackers I have ever caught while Hurricane Danny was sitting in the Mobile Bay.
It takes a long time to grow an old friend.

Yeah it sat on top of us for so long I went outside and did yard work in the middle of it. Had a tornado hit a few miles down the road from where we were living at the time and I didn't even know it. It sucked all the water out of the bay too.

The local news here in Orlando had it on this morning and I didn't have the volume on. I did see an area on their screen that looked to be around Chattanooga they had labeled as "Water Vapor" and then a model of some sort showing it moving into the Gulf. Never heard of that.
not sure what the best way to handle them is but they shouldnt be on tv and gettn married and raisin kids

Danny did this same thing. It started as a whirling cluster of storms up in Nebraska, moved south and into the gulf, then developed into a hurricane, then parked itself on top of mobile bay and dumped 43" of rain over baldwin county
