I won't shoot anything (except coyotes) that isn't going to be eaten by humans but labeling someone a poacher for not eating a bear? Seems off to me.

So, just to summarize where we are in America. This guy is vilified for doing something that may or may not be unethical, albeit illegal, in a hunting realm. Meanwhile actual human babies in their mothers' wombs can be torn apart and be celebrated for doing so.

Maybe lying to investigators is why they went after him so bad.

Well he broke a known law, there's no denying that. If we or anyone else wants to have a discussion if it's a stupid law then let's do that but there's no discussion if he broke the law.

I think a lot of folks need to understand you can't just make your own laws and then go by those, then when the government punishes you get all upset because you felt their law was stupid in the first place. You must always follow the law, stupid or not, and work to change the stupid laws. That's the responsible thing to do for your family.

If he broke the law then so be it.

Technically the definition of poacher is: a person who hunts or catches game or fish illegally. Since he broke a law in the hunting of this game then yeah, he's a poacher

So, say for example, if you don't have enough blaze orange on to meet the minimum, then you are a poacher. Got it.

Bear meat is great if you know how to cook it.

The article states “illegal take” and “illegal possession”.

I just think labeling any infraction "poaching" is extreme. If you get a parking ticket then you are a "criminal" I guess.

Not the same. Since their law requires you to remove and use the meat he really isn't any different than some one that shoots a deer and just takes the antlers. Lots of states have that law and enforce it with enthusiasm. If you plan to hunt a state then you are required to follow their laws whether you agree or not.

If I had to guess you would need to soak it salt water for at least a week to get the games taste out. Then marinate it in zesty Italian dressing for at least 2 days. smile

You cook it the same way as carp, put it in a baking pan, pack horse chit around it and slow bake it for 8 hours. When done throw away the meat and eat the chit

If it can eat you, your kid or your dog you kill it. Dont matter what PETA supported liberal law is in place you kill it and keep your mouth shut.
