No. 28” is what the draw weight of a recurve is measured at. If it’s a 50# bow, you will be pulling less weight at 26”. How much less depends on the design and the materials the bow is made of.

I have a 26 inch draw length with compound bow would a 28" recurve be too long No but the poundage will be lower than the bow states that it is.

No and yes imo.
While the draw weight is typically list at 28” draw length and most recurves can be shot at different draw lengths, there is a couple things to keep in mind.
Drawing less or more will change the poundage.
If your looking for a certain weight at you draw length, you may have to go higher or lower depending.
Secondly, longer draw length shooters can max out bows especially if they are shorter models or at the least feel a lot of stack .
I draw 30” , not knowing any of this in the beginning I bought many bows that were too short. I have now learned i prefer / and typically need a 64” bow.
None of this is set in stone but a general rule of thumb.
