Water will freeze in the tracks and windows won't slide.

I have windows in a shooting house just like what you are describing. Have not had a bit of trouble with them except fogging. Especially when you cut the heat on. I have noticed that the overlap dont fog. My advise to you would be let a foot or so overlap in the middle. On a cold humid morning when you cut the heat on, that will be the only foot you can see out of without wiping constantly. That will still leave you plenty of sliding room as well. You can window a whole 4x8 shooting house for about $70.00. Thats what a sheet of plexiglass costs at lowes. Also, I made my windows 12inches high and almost all the way across all four sides. If I had it to do over, id go about 8inches. I have not had any trouble with water freezing in the tracks. Any reason to use plexiglass over glass, or vice versa? Glass priced cheaper at lowes when I looked at it.

You can drill through plexiglass, its quieter, dont break like glass. One con is it does scratch.if you decided to change to hinged window you can bolt hinges directly to plexiglass.

go buy the pre cut plexiglass sections, get non squeak hinges and some foam adhesive seal, make a couple of dowels to hold windo tight and no air will come around it. i have about 25$ in each window doing that.

I hate plexi windows. They scratch and turn yellow. Make them out of 2x2 material. If you have a table saw use it to cut a groove for the glass to sit in. If you want better joints in your corners buy one of these. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kreg-K4L-Pocket-Hole-Jig/3013529 Its $99 but i found tons of other uses for it. I actually bought a smaller one that was like $30.00 but it didnt come with the holding jig and that makes everything so easy. Just make sure your groove is not in the path for the screws or you will bust the glass. I also put a little dab of silicone in all 4 corners to keep glass from moving since my groove is a little larger than it has to be but it makes assembling much easier. T hinges are fine unless the window is wider than 24" In my 6 foot houses I use two 30" windows with piano hinges. Mine fold down and I use a standard window lock to keep them in place. I also make a drape out of window screen that I fold over and use an office stapler to make a loop that a 1/2" piece of conduit goes through. I attach the conduit with some conduit C clamps. The drapes are each about 12" wide so there are slits so I can get my rifle through without them moving. I also screw a piece of stall mat down to 2" to the bottom of the window frame for a gun rest. The mat lasts forever and will not rot, mildew or get stinky like carpet will.
I love my country, but don't trust my government.

Plexy is fine , just don't use a Windex type cleaner on it.

I've build many shooting houses and installed plexiglas in all of them usually have them flip up to open. Install a little latch to keep them open or closed. Killed many a deer with the window resting on me head. Never hunt with them open. Only open to shoot. Have at times hinged them on the side to swing open.

Deer view is the way to go. Air tight, quite, doesnt cloud up over time like plexi.
