The young ones around my house make a long kind of shrieking sound. I assumed it was so the momma can keep up with them after they start flying around a bit. They have been nesting in my back yard for years now.
You haven't been blocked until you've been flock blocked!!!

had one of those, too ^^^, but apparently there was a turf war and one lost the battle. decomposing owl covered in ants, along with all the mess from the live one....we didn't use that shooting house for a while!
experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

When I was about 12 I was cleaning out shooting houses as my job on workdays. These shooting house were 16-20 feet off the ground. When I opened the door to the house an owl came flying straight at me. Couldn’t have missed my head by more than an inch. I think I hit 1 rung on the ladder on the way down. By the way that was the nastiest shooting house ever You ought to see how bad buzzards are
