Looks like Alabama is kicking it around, for certain conditions. (Which I support). I know I’m overthinking this but how will companies with zero drug policies deal with this, should it pass?

Easy, until they come up with a quick test to determine if you are under the influence of marijuana at the time you will be terminated. In my opinion that's the only reason for it. If the employer says its a no drug policy then they have the right to fire.

I think if it does pass your question is something that will be answered only in the courts. Until then I think it would be at the employers discretion. How does it work now for those on prescribed opioids at work?
I would really like to try some of the hemp oil which gives you no high for my joint pain but from what Ive read even though its OTC and doesnt give you a high it still could show up as marijuana in a drug test which could lead to repercussions.

Because THC lingers in the fatty tissue, drug tests for it can't can't pinpoint when the drug was ingested. With a tightening labor market, many Oregon employers are no longer including THC in their drug screening protocol. I imagine that within the next 20 years most states will legalize both medical and recreational marijuana, as big corporations enter the market and wield their influence over lawmakers. This situation will require better testing. Was Jim Bob stoned when he tumped the backhoe, or was that THC just a result of his previous night's pain relief? How much THC in the blood makes you legally under the influence? Is it the same for everyone? What happens when someone goes on a crash diet and metabolizes 10 pounds of THC saturated fat? Lots of questions to be addressed, probably in the courts. Personally, I only smoke before bedtime so my back doesn't keep me awake all night. There is no way I would ever consider operating any complicated or dangerous equipment in that condition. I once hunted with some stoners. Once was enough.

The construction Co. I work for had a job in Colorado. We are a drug free Co. If you failed your drug test you were let go. No matter that its legal there. Company policy. If I am prescribed by my doctor Oxy (for example) and I go for a drug test and the result is positive, I simply produce my RX and I am all good.
So, I figure the same if "Medical Pot" is legal it would be same as above... my thoughts anyhow

You must remember that our medical system is all about the money. If you paid a doctor for the prescription and paid a pharmacy for the pills, you're good to go. But if use a safer, less addictive, and more effective treatment (that didn't require a doctor and pharmacy) you're screwed.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

My job with the pipeline is regulated by the DOT. Test positive for marijuana and you’re gone, legal or not.
DOE here. Ditto.

I’m glad it’s being talked about, maybe things will change. Ridiculous people can eat pills at work and come in wreaking of alcohol and it’s no big deal but smoke a joint on a Friday night at your house and the next week get fired while your sober. For some people it’s the only thing that gives relief without the harsh side effects of the crap pharmaceutical companies and doctors push.

My question is, why is it regulated by the DEA as a schedule 1 Drug? If by definition, a schedule 1 drug has no medical value?
I think the argument has been made and proven that it has medicinal value, so why the harshest classification by the DEA?

During college, I developed a lot of anxiety for whatever reason. Almost to the point that I would skip class just so I wouldn’t be around people I didn’t know. Then a neighbor in the apartment introduced me to pot. It completely changed my attitude for the better. I don’t smoke it now because I have too much to lose but if becomes legal, the hell with a beer pass me a rice paper rolled fatty.
