Bird from yesterday. Had some nice hooks on him. I spotted this bird last week sneaking through a swamp bottom. Yesterday was wet and windy so I slipped in from above where I hoped he would be hanging out. I actually thought I heard a bird a ways off gobble so I yelped and before I got the second Yelp out he hammered 35 yds away. This bottom is very thick so I couldn't see him but also he couldn't see me. After about 15 minutes of drumming he finally walked into view at 15 yds across my left shoulder. I had enough folage in between us I knew I could swing on him before he knew what was going on. So I waited for him to drum and made my move and put the hammer on him. Very rare does the plan work out to the T in turkey hunting but this was one of them.
