I would if and when they allow baiting and the use of the 200 traps on post. I tried contacting them about that today and couldn't get an answer from anyone. I have seen several vacant traps with grass grown up in them. Is everyone just doing spot and stalk when they hunt the hogs, on post?

The only way I have had any luck talking with anyone is by way of ICE comment. I was trying to get information on the traps and of course no one answers their phone. Finally got ahold of the biologist, he said they weren’t planning on issuing the traps this year. That the USDA guy was doing a great job of hog control on 40,000 acres with 5 traps. Also people were abusing the trapping program. I asked if I could sign for a trap and run it myself, in short, no. So I called Mr Stokes (GW) asked about getting a baiting permit for hogs, he said no such thing was out there. I asked how the wounded warrior hunt was able to bait but I can’t. He the told me that was different because it’s a organized event and they had got a permit from the state. So I called the state DNR for the area (to confirm my thinking) asked about getting a special permit and of course the state can not issue a permit for federal property (I knew this all ready). So long story short no one will help get the information you want. Don’t know what is going to happen with baiting. The biologist did call one of my friends and say they were talking about issuing traps on a limited basis (aka buddy system). Spot and stalk is about all you can do for now. I haven’t given up yet, trying to get a organized hunting meeting setup. We shall see.
