The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Eastern Lauderdale County in northwestern Alabama... Northwestern Limestone County in north central Alabama... Northeastern Lawrence County in northwestern Alabama...
* Until 845 PM CDT.
* At 813 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Courtland, or 13 miles west of Decatur, moving north at 45 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
* Locations impacted include... Rogersville, Courtland, North Courtland, Hillsboro, Elkmont, Anderson, Lester, Good Springs, Cartwright and Coxey.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
