My little 7 yr boy wants to Turkey hunt bad during spring break. I took he and his sister down to the farm yesterday afternoon. We walked called looked etc for several hours. No sign of any turkeys, no Turkey on any camera since last Friday afternoon. I was dissappointed but not suprised as only 1 Turkey has been heard 1 morning this year. We go back to camp early and make a fire and start roasting hot dogs and marsh mellows about 6 last night. My boy asks if he is gonna kill his first Turkey in the morning. I said buddy I dont really see any sign and no one has been hearing or seeing any turkeys so I doubt it but we will try our hardest. He gets a bite of hot dog and says maybe we should pray for turkeys to come out. I said buddy that's probably our only chance at seeing a Turkey tomorrow so go ahead. He bowed that head and prayed for God to make the turkeys come out, we said amen and went back to eating. 10 minutes later my phone dinged and 3 hens were standing in front of my camera. I said we have turkeys, he said at least we will hear one in the morning and I said buddy those are just hens but there could be a gobbler nearby so maybe we will hear one. He said well we should pray for a gobbler too. He prayed and my phone dinged again and you guessed it gobbler standing there. He gobbled 20 times this morning and we got to watch him fly down with his hens and enjoyed the show though we did not get a shot. Lesson to me was pray about everything even when we think it's some insignificant thing God does not have time for, like turkeys.

I love to listen to kids praying.

That's a great story, and a lesson to all us "grown" folks.

If we had faith as a child life would surely be different. I took a mentally changed boy (25years old) hunting a couple years ago and he wanted to pray before we went. He prayed standing there by the truck in the dark and I sure was glad it was still dark so he couldn't see my face. One of the most touching prayers I have ever heard.
