Well, my GA trip was a bust. Not sure if all the bucks were locked up with hot does or if it was the full moon. Either way, I didn't put any points on the board. My buddy did manage to shoot the buck from his trail cam on Wed. morning (as I was driving over). It ended up scoring 143 B&C, thought I'd share a couple of pictures of it for your viewing pleasure.

Have not bow hunted.

Gettng leg wound worked on 3 days a week.

Muzzle loader opened Saturday, first opening day I have ever missed.

HOWEVER............ I made up my to shoot anything without spots.

Shot me a 50 pound doe for some tender fry meat.

Let her moma go as she had 3 of the yearling with her.

that is 5 points we can sandbag for later.

Gun opener is Saturday and I have plenty of pain pills now..... gonna start hunting hard for rest of season. Have 18 days off straight in the rut. Will hammer some bucks then, if not sooner.

How's everyone's season going? I've seen deer every hunt here in AL, but all does and yearlings. Horns should start showing soon, starting to find some fresh rubs and seeing some buck tracks crossing the dirt roads, shouldn't be long before scrapes start appearing and they are out after the does.

Acorns have deer hunkered down right now. All they have to do is walk 40 feet in any direction and they are full.

Be back on them this weekend.

two weeks and I am off from Dec 16th to Jan 5th. Will be at the camp the whole time hunting. Except for maybe a quick trip home for a conjucal visit and wash clothes.

Heading to Mississippi to hunt a friends private property the fist four days of vacation.

I am 0-1 on bucks after this weekend. Sat. morning I hunted a 6-8 year old clear cut. Sat on the edge of the road watching some crossings. At about 8am the woods exploded behind me. I turned just in time to see a doe running straight at me, she was being pushed by a stud..probably 135-140" buck. I swung and got them in the scope. Not sure if she saw me or just tried to lose him but at 30 yrds she cut a 90 degree turn to the left. He followed, tried to stop him, but no luck. I squeezed a shot off in the last opening I had, but didn't connect. I looked for a while for any signs of the deer or a hit; looked like a clean miss. Hopefully he'll return...think he was so into her that he didn't even know anything happened. I did find what I think is his core area full of big rubs (see pic) and scrapes as big as a small car (looked like he just connected them all together), and good lord what there was deer mess everywhere. I set up game camera so maybe I can confirm the miss and know he his still there waiting on me to track him down.

Alright Bone I hope you get a picture of that one, better yet hope you kill him!

May be able to get Cj into the woods this weekend. Hoping all goes well and we get a crack at an eight that has been hitting a food plot quite hard at dusk. We are avid bow hunters and he is in an area that we only bow hunt so I'm giving Cj first crack at him then I'm movin in:)

Got the big 6 I had pictures of from before season. Another club member saw the big one I missed and couldn't get a clean shot, said he had 5 points (6 if had brow) on the one side he could see really well. Hopefully I can catch up with him by end of the season and get us some more points.

Good job guys. I've been working almost everyday and haven't had a chance to hunt much. I'll get a doe and a buck before season is over though. I usually go on a killing spree the end of January.

I have seen nothing in three weeks except 3 spikes and a button head.

Heading for Monticello MS friday to hunt 4 days at a friends property.

Come home for a day then off to my lease through Jan 3rd.

Have looked two sundays in a row, not one rub...... only one scrape and it has not been worked since it was made.

Toughest year I have ever had.

Dang cows are hitting the woods every morning browsing because the grass in the fields has been all eaten up. Not condusive for hunting when you have 6 cows browsing around your stand at daylight.

MOvemoent should start next couple of weeks.

I'll be in the woods every day from tomorrow until 12/27, been waiting for the next 12 days all year. Good luck to everyone this upcoming weekend. Let's put some more points on the board.

Been a week of ups and downs. Saw 2 shooters (one of them was the big one I missed earlier in the season, its been a game of cat and mouse all season...the mouse keeps winning, but the cat is still hunting so we will see what happens) couldn't get a clean kill shot at either so opted not to pull trigger. Hopefully I'll get a picture of him on the game camera soon if I don't put him in the dirt first. I really want to see what he has on that head of his. I know it's tall and wide, not sure how many points. It's back to work on Monday and then I'll be a weekend warrior again. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.

Checked camera today. Looks like I got a new one to chase the rest of the season. Not the one I've been seeing, but still a good one.

Got another couple of buddies hanging out around the camera. Hopefully either these or the other one I posted (above) will show up soon while I'm actually in the stand. All the pictures were taken within 50 yards of each other over the last 2 weeks.
