I have one made by council tool on a 30" hickory handle it will get through some thick tangles. I'd hate to have someone swinging one of these son of a guns at me!

Some folks call it a Kaiser blade. I call it a sling blade. It's just a long handle, kindly like an axe handle. With a long blade on it shaped kinda like a bannaner. Umhmm. Sharp on one edge, and dull on the other. Umhmm. It's what the highway boys use to cut down weeds and whatnot.

It's funny I had never heard those called a sling blade until that movie. I always heard those called a bush axe.

I can’t believe y’all like them Fiscars. Dad has one and I absolutely hate it. Give me a real machete and I can do work. Them things are just dangerous.

I should have added that I attached a loop of paracord to the handle to go around my wrist. You could mess yourself up if it slipped out of your hand.

the fiskars hook is an excellent tool, particularly finland-made ones. the more recent china-made ones aren't bad, but they don't hold as fine an edge as well. learn how to sharpen the inner hook edge, and you'll be very happy. i'm sure skull has no issues handling that ... smile

That is just a common bush hook that Mangler has with a t-ball handle, the Fiskas is just a little one. The Co-Ops have handles for them.

It is but half the size of a regular bush ax.

That Swedish brush ax looks stout.
