Is that a full size truck tailgate Yes sir! Full size GMC Sierra. 64lbs is the biggest I've ever caught. 47" nose to tail. This is the only pic I have of it. Doesn't really do justice to size but I was probably pushing 250lbs in the pic.

Can any of yall offer up some books, websites or videos for a complete novice to use to learn? I would be mainly going for beavers and coyotes.
Did not see a thread in this forum for it. Maybe yall could do one like CNC has in the management forum.
Thanks

Sumpter YouTube is your friend! I've got dozens of books, VHS tapes and DVDs on trapping but there's so much content on YouTube now that it really doesn't make sense to buy stuff. Management Advantage videos are great, Clint Locklear's Predator Nation videos, coon creek outdoors and many, many others will really shorten the learning curve. Beaver trapping videos by Mr. Kirk DeKalb are great and Tom Florin videos are really good.

I do know that it was much heavier than a bag of feed.

K Bush I wasn't saying yours didn't weight 70lbs. I know areas produce much heavier animals. Heck I've seen several posted on T-man pushing 100lbs.
Beavers may be like our deer, heaviest I've ever killed here was 165lbs but I know Clarke and Choctaw Co consistently produce 200lb deer.

One last question, where are the best places to buy the traps, lures etc?

I use F and T post and Minnesota Trapline. Both are really fast getting orders out.
If you're going to buy coyote traps and want them ready to go in the ground go to NO BS Lures and order from Kendall. His K9 extremes are already set up, powder coated and ready to go in the ground.

Nice. Last several checks show 0 activity so I'm probably pulling my beaver traps tomorrow. Walked a good bit of the pond and saw no fresh sign after yesterday's rain. Did catch a whiff of castor but never found it. Opened some more dams and let water out.
Will follow up in a couple of weeks
