You forgot to send mine... I guess you can wait until my birthday next month 😂

I contacted old crow... said he is backed up right now making turkey calls but should be turning some rosewoods in the next couple days. If you can wait a bit he will get some of the nicer woods in when things die down. I think he said they were between $55-$65 depending on wood

Like several other people said, Old Crow. Val (ESPO) makes a quality call that will not stick and that sounds great! I actually had the pleasure of watching him make mine. Also, as mentioned, he's a good guy!

On the Old Crow, does the type of wood seem to make a difference for performance? One that was demo'd in video was Osage orange.

That will be one fine looking call as that osage naturally ages. LOVE OSAGE!

I very much prefer a wood call and would love one of the Old Crow Osage but their website is down and Facebook doesn't have options and prices on their page.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Dont think brand matters. More about tone. I found the smaller more moderate tones work the best. Not too loud or aggressive calling works well for me. You can hammer them big loud calls if you want but I dont get much response.

Old enough to know better but still too young too care!

Email Val. He will email right back with price. I have a couple in different wood variations. One for me, one for my son. I told Val I wanted the best sound and let him pick the type wood. Probably didn’t matter, but they sound and work good.

I have gone through all of the big name calls and I couldn't find one that reproduced the grunts I heard in the woods. Quaker Boy Brawler is the closest thing I can find. I love this call. I haven't used it all year because I couldn't find it. I tore through my closet last night and finally went to the attic to look through my turkey season box. Found the quaker boy sitting in the bottom of the box. I was relieved I can have it the last two weeks of the season. I will Try Old Crow based on the recommendations above

I got an Old Crow Grunt from Val yesterday. I asked him the question about whether type of wood effected the quality of the sound. I am done for the year unfortunately, so I was not in a rush to purchase. He felt like the type of wood was more of an aesthetic issue. I went ahead and purchased a Rosewood grunt. He drove to my office and delivered it. Gave me a few minute tutorial on the grunt and its use. I am impressed with the sounds I can generate with the grunt. I was also impressed with Val and really enjoyed talking with him. He makes excellent turkey calls too. I highly recommend dealing with him !

I got an old wooden grunted made by Broadway Game Calls out of Montgomery. After playing with several others it's the most realistic sounding call I've ever used. Wish I could find another one to put up for the future in case I lose the one I have.
