Is this the same as the Davey Crockett shoot?

It's set up on a farm of over 100 acres if I'm not mistaken. Plan on staying late and having a designated driver every night if you want. I have never seen anyone unruly there or anything like that at all,but they might sip some shine and sing around the fire a bit.

Lots of folks building bows at the work shed just about any time day or night.

There's usually about 50 targets set up around a couple mile trail.

It is the best one I've been to. Lots of vendors and individuals with stuff to sell. I use to take a few staves to pay for my gas.

Thanks , I don’t drink so no need for a driver. I really wasn’t planning on shooting cause I don’t want to be shamed back to Alabama lol so I was mainly interested in the bow building and vendors

No worries about your shooting. You don't have to shoot in front of anyone. There's plenty of room between targets that no one can see you. It's all real informal and just for fun. Shoot anyway, even if you miss every target. Nobody will care.

I haven't been in several years but I am going to try top go back this year. Is it still the first weekend in May?

I'm not a drinker either, but might have a sip or two if the time is right.

I don't know that it will cost anything if you bring a stave. We need to get together soon and get you going with a couple.

I'm sure I'll have a stave for you too Irish, even if you don't go,but it would be fun to shoot with you guys. I have about 15-20 Osage staves that have been in the attic for about 7 years.

It's a real fun shoot though with super nice and friendly people everywhere. There's usually a campfire, guitar, banjo, some singing and a jar a lot later at night though.

Looks like a good time, I was hoping bryon Ferguson would be there but I contacted him and he said he was going to be at the one in Birmingham not Tennessee. However I think bigjim will be a vendor at the Tn classic. On top of making a self bow I’d like to buy a nice longbow but I’d like to be able to shoot it first.

Any builders up there selling bows during event?

A Bear is going to be a factory made bow, whereas a bow you would find at the Tennessee Classic would be a homemade bow.

If you are looking for something like a factory made Bear reflex/deflex, I have one I was about to list for sale. It is a Bear Montana. What weight are you looking for?

There will be a tent or two with all kinds of custom used bows for sale. There will also likely be a few individuals with both custom and selfbows for sale. There will be just about everything archery related for sale, even flint and feathers.
