Don’t ever go to a new restaurant when it first opens. Give them a little while to get the kinks worked out. This. Terry is a good guy and has good sense so I'm sure he will work through any problems with the restaurant. I'll wait a few months and give it a try.

If the Turks are paired up with the lady I think they are, the food will be delicious. Must have just been a "new" problem like Auburn 03 said.

Just the concept of Bama Bucks sounds to me like it would be better as a special events venue rather than a full on restaurant.

Went last weekend. Worse meal of my life. Seriously felt bad paying that bad. I heard they served right at 1300 people on their opening weekend. That is a lot for a new restaurant. I bet the Turks will get things straightened out pretty quick.

I think they were overwhelmed with the amount of people that showed amazing at the people from out of town that were there. The first thing I would do is let the Manager go. After talking to him 2 or 3 times he did nothing to resolve the issue. Told us when we were leaving I out hope you will give us another chance. Talk is cheap. Mr Turk was there and I'm sure will be most of time. Use the Managers salary to put back into hiring kitchen help.

Don’t ever go to a new restaurant when it first opens. Give them a little while to get the kinks worked out. I agree about this. Opening weekends-weeks are challenging no matter where. Even with veteran house staff, line cooks, prep, servers, etc., they all have to figure out routines, quirks, handle stress and so forth. A soft opening might help but opening weekend-night typically will be crazy. For the owner or manager to just say "Eh, it was busier than we expected. We'll be fine." won't cut it, either. Whoever is really in charge hopefully took notes and addressed deficiencies, made changes or fired people. However, desertdog saying food was cold and issues unresolved goes to IMO deeper problems. Cold food is unacceptable, especially after being sent back. You only get one chance to impress the public with a restaurant like this and it sounds like they didn't do a great job with it. Maybe they'll figure it out. If not, they won't last.

Restaurants make it or break it via word of mouth.
