suggestions on a good 22?
Thinking of getting one just to plink around with.
It will probably not get cleaned as often as it should and won't be handled all that gently. So durability is a little important.

Ruger is my favorite but many choices out there that r good

Ruger Mark II, III or better yet a Mark IV for ease of cleaning.

Also consider Browning Buckmark or an S&W Victory.

All good choices

I had a single six in the past, stood about 10 yards from the side of a barn, couldn't hit the damn thing.

I like the looks of the buckmark.

Anybody wanting to get rid of one?

I would buy a nice older S&W revolver. The stainless Ruger is over $600,and you can get a nice shooter grade S&W for around $500.

If you just want cheap, the Ruger LCR.

Heritage Rough Rider revolver is my trapping gun and gets treated like you described. You can find them for 100-120 bucks on sale.

Browning Buckmark. I got one with the 4.5" barrel before Christmas and it is a sweet shooter. Saw the 5.5" barrel at Simmons last week for $299.

I had a Ruger 22/45 Lite that was nice. Shot great. But the damn thing was red.
I just got a Browning Buckmark 4-inch Bull. I think it’s going to be pretty good.
.22 semi-auto pistols are just fun, more fun IMO than .22 wheel guns.

Love the ruger MK's have several and not a bad shooter in the house. My wife and nephew will go thru a brick with them before I can get a camp fir lit! They make speed loaders for them that are GREAT. IF revolvers are your thing, I enjoy my Rossi's I have most every 94 variant available and they are functional and accurate wheel guns, and CHEAP.

Handle the Ruger MK III and the Buckmark. You'll likely like the Buckmark better. I do and I own both. You could club Godzilla to death with the Ruger and never hurt it. The Buckmark would be destroyed in doing so but it points and shoots SO much more naturally than the Ruger.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

also don't over look the s&w mp22 pistol. There a training gun for the center-fire models. Has the same manual of arms has the bigger bothers. Also can be made into a suppressor host with just buying an adapter.

My low-end Buckmarks outshoot my high-end Rugers.
(your results may vary)
I wish I could sell them all and get another S&W 41... or two.
(they've gotten very expensive)

I bought a new Ruger Charger during the summer and put a red dot on it. Shoots quarter size groups at 50 yds. On sale now at grab a gun for $229.00. Between me and my grandsons, we've already put over 2k rds thur it. I did have to work the trigger and do internal polishing to it, however it is my favorite play gun now. Just an absolute blast..

The chargers are fun guns to shoot, but they are more of a shoot from a rest or bench type of gun, not a pack in a holster and shoot stuff off hand type gun.
