I’m in a ladder stand on a foodplot. I’m mainly here to watch a road through some planted pines that’s got scrapes along the road

Hunting the pretty woods this morning. I shot a nice 8 yesterday evening. Dang thing dropped in it tracks and flopped 3 or four times then got still. so 5 minutes later I start climbing down and it jumps up and takes off . I could see a giant hole around his liver. gonna sit till 9ish then go track em. Yall get a biggun.

Hanging off the side of the mountain need the thermal to kick in the wind is killing me. Gonna have to be a big one to shoot here. As I'm typing the fog is starting to rise..... come on thermals!

I just saw a 6 and 8pt cross a small field.

In Chambers Co. This morning. Sitting on the point of a ridge with two bottums coming together to my left and a nice oak flat and saddle on my right. Mostly an exploratory hunt this morning. Still don't know the new property that well.

Busted a 4-5 yo heavy 8 this morning chasing a doe at 640.

Well praise God. My buddy just texted that his son just busted a doe. His first deer ever. He missed one last year and was tore about about it since then because he’s the only one out of the three hunting buddies sons that hasn’t killed a deer. But now he’s joined the brotherhood. He’s on cloud 9. Shaking, asking for blood on his face, the whole 9 yards. Eli and I are sitting up high on a hardwood flat. Gonna sit a while longer then go join the lucky hunter and post some pics.

My wind shifted. I relocated 50 yards to get downwind of the trail. Starting to think about the Christmas tree cake in me bag.

yep he crossed. no gracefully either. crossed where both banks are steep and 20 yards away its looks like beach on both sides. hopefully he gets bigger and stays dumb.

My rotten luck continues!! My wife’s uncle killed the 9 point I’ve been hunting so hard. I’ve hunted my property (adjoining his property) 7 hunts in the last 7 days to try to see this deer. I’m ready for my luck to change lol
