Waiting on a pair to arrive at the house, lens delaminated, I dropped them on the driveway a cracked them, sent them in, they happened to be discontinued picked out a new pair, new glasses for $12, If it's their problem they will repair, but not your mistakes. I think this is the 3rd pair I have returned and never paid more than $12 unless I upgraded the lenses.

Same here. My wife had some issues with a pair of hers one time and she sent them back but they could not fix them due to the frames being discontinued so they told her that she could pick any other pair she wanted and just call them back telling them exactly what she wanted and they would send them to her. She went online, picked some out, called them and they sent them to her with no problems.

My wife and mother in law were complaining a month or so ago because she sent back a set and they charged $70-$80 to repair. Fastforward to last week and I mailed in a pair that the screw kept falling out on the frame. They e-mailed me earlier this week and said they were discontinued to pick out a new pair, they charged me $12 shipping and a new set of Costas are on the way. I think the key is the condition of your lens, if they can take your set in and send them through refurbishing there are no charges other than shipping. However, if your lens are scratched and they have to truly repair "your" set of glasses it seems they charge. Just my theory...

I have sent back 3/4 pairs over the past 10 years, usually over the nose pad peeling, and they have always sent me a new set no problem.

I've been meaning to contact them about the same issue. Nose pad & behind the ear pads are about shot. Crossing my fingers that's a warranty issue.

The new warranty instructions say do not send it for nose pad replacements.. I guess they send it to you not sure.. but I have always found their CS to be helpful and polite.

I will also throw out my other theory.. I think they have changed the language around "Lifetime Warranty" with the new lineup of glasses. They discontinued the older original lineup of glasses to get out from under their original No Hassle Warranty Repair.

Where does it say that? I have a pair that I need the pads replaced on and I haven't seen those instructions anywhere on their warranty page.

My favorite glasses ever were a $20 pair of Strike Kings that were nearly identical to the Costas, but GomerJr broke them a couple of years ago. Current pair is a different but similar pair of Strike Kings that I got on sale at Academy for $7. Polarized and UVA/UVB protection....not sure what more you could ask for.

I love costa... nothing but good things for me.. I found a pair about 4 years ago and they broke about 1 year after finding them. I sent them back got a brand new pair for less than $20.. I shattered the lenses last year cause I dropped them. Replaced the frames and lenses for $75.

When i first started wearing them bout 12 years ago they were good quality and never gave me any problems...more than a decade and about 6 pairs later they have turned into junk..still very good clarity but the quality has flopped. I have had to warranty 2 pairs and one experience was better than the other but niether one was just spectacular.

I had a pair of Costa Triple Tails that were like 12yrs old or so. The Costa emblems fell off and the glass just became loose and worn out. I sent them to Costa and they called about 2wks later and said they didn't make Triple tails anymore but would send me Brines for $6 with plastic lens or $12 with 580 glass lens. I can't say that is terrible customer service.

Agree with Gomer, if you like 150 or higher glasses, fine. I have worn Ono and strike king for years. If they break, I just buy another pair.

I've worn cheap and I've worn Costas and for offshore fishing and bowfishing there's not a pair of glasses around that I have seen cut glare like my costas.

Seems like it was on the questions you complete when filling out the warranty order. Maybe it was only referring to metal frames where the nosepad isn't built into the frames.

MrsGomer has a pair of Costas that were a gift.........I've swapped back & forth between hers and mine while out fishing and really couldn't tell a noticeable difference. The only real advantage I can find with hers over my Strike Kings is they're much more resistant to scratching (glass lenses vs plastic)....But at about 25x the price, I'll just keep buying cheapo's...

For me they really shine when you're trying to make out a carp to shoot at in 4 ft of muddy Alabama river water. That and when we shoot barracudas offshore, I have been able to spot fish deeper and quicker than my buddies who wear other stuff.

My Permits have that little rubber gasket around the inside of the lenses, seems to be commonplace for it to start coming off after time. I'm guessing mine were 5 years old, I bought em off eBay for a lot cheaper than retail (I was figuring this would come up be a problem). Sent mine back to Costa a couple of months ago and they sent me a brand new pair, newest version that's nicer than the ones I sent back.

Things I have learned lately:
Costa Warranty sux.
Yeti Warranty sux and is a close second.

Note to self : do not buy anything else from companies that would rather sell window stickers than stand behind their products.
that is all......
