I know it's not exactly answering your question. And I'm sure you already one this but, proper layers make a huge difference. I start with a quality Merino wool base layer. Something at least 200gm and up. Smart wool and Ice Breaker are 2 great companies. Then an insulation layer of windstopper fleece, or goose down if conditions are dry. Then am outer layer of primaloft or something with a Gore Tex lining, and a Merino outer works great. Absolutely no cotton or anything that fits too tight. The goal of insulation is to trap the air. Good clothes are expensive, but they last forever. I'm 44 years old and I still have a Browning Hydrofleece jacket I bought when I was 19 or 20 years old.
