Really odd they left the other firearms. I can't understand that. Were they all together? Sounds like someone you know and they wanted a shotgun for themselves. Rifles are usually worth more than most shotguns.

Honestly I have no idea. I always have my door locked. I woke up and the doors were unlocked. They left the pistol and my .308 but took the shotgun. Took the shotgun,but left a pistol and rifle laying there beside them? The pistol Has a holster under the dash, the rifle was in the trunk, the shotgun was separated and tucked UNDER the seat

It's not a matter of IF you will be a victim. It's a matter of WHEN. There are just too many lowlife thieves walking our streets these days. Killing is too good for them. I have more locks than I can could, but locks only slow them down. I hate it man, but I've been victimized too many times myself. THey git a Browning A-5 from me and a Remington 22 rifle. Fishing tackle, tools, a boat, you name it I've donated to criminals. I've had the police threaten me over threats to start shooting them or laying booby traps. You can't dwell on it, learn a lesson and move on.
Carry your stuff inside, then you can shoot them. I feel victimized everytime you call me up and cuss me out, you mean old goat.

Just a thought but you might consider not leaving your pistol, rifle, and shotgun in the truck.

Rifles are usually worth more than most shotguns. sounds like kids they ride around montgomery checking for unlocked cars then ransack the ones they find they dont actively break in just open the door they probably saw the shotgun thought they hit the jackpot and hauled a$$ not even thinking to look for more The Police tell people all the time not to leave your valuables in you vehicle.  how am i supposed to keep my scope from fogging on a cold morning if i dont leave it in the truck over night? i will never hunt with a rifle i just took out a 72° safe on a cold morning as soon as you flip the lens covers you got about 10 seconds to shoot before its fogged out

about to order that now its worth a shot anyway maybe it will help with my glasses too wonder if I could just clean my lenses with shaving cream like you can do to keep the bathroom mirror from fogging
