Found some at Bass Pro Shops would you use it to deer hunt with or just keep it for coyotes?

This may be better than the new dog shooting thread.

I’d only use those for rabbits and squirrels and even then keep shots away from the shoulder. grin

Probably have many of them drop in their tracks, but those that do not will leave no blood trail. I'm not even happy with the Hornady American out of the .243 for the same reason. I'm going back to old faithful Corelokt.

Behind the shoulders quartering away or in front quartering to me. Haven't shot it a lot don't get me wrong but there has been a few occasions were it was the only gun that I had I much prefer my 30-06.

I think the 90 grain has a heavier jacket. Most light for caliber ballistic tips are suited more towards varmints and maybe antelope. With the exception of the 120 grain 7mm one which has a very heavy jacket

75gr in .243 are Varmint bullets.

Thanks for the info Brent I don't know a lot about ammo and loads except what I have researched and I know what is on paper isn't always what the bullet will actually do. They were on sale so I got them just wanted to get the general opinion on them as far as deer would go. Figured there were guys on here who knew more about it than me was all.

I’d keep the 75 gr for target or varmints, the 90 and 95 ballistic tips are for deer sized game.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.

I shoot an 80g Barnes ttsx in .243 and it kills the chit out of them. But it’s not a true ballistic tip.

I’ll never shoot another American Whitetail in any caliber. Stuff is horrible.

I probably wouldn't run a 75grain bullet for whitetail deer. Shot placement is a key factor, but you're not getting the advantage of having some extra ass behind the bullet at 75 grains.

FWIW I run 100gr Nosler Partitions over RL-22 out of a Ruger #1B and it drops deer in their tracks. Send it though the pump house and no tracking required.
