The youth hunting got me to thinking about license and harvest record. Hunting license required by someone without a gun but sitting with someone with a gun has been kicked around on here many times. Alabama's definition of hunting:

HUNTING DEFINED
Hunting includes pursuing, shooting, killing, capturing and trapping wild animals, wild birds, and all lesser acts, such as disturbing, harrying or worrying, or placing, setting, drawing or using any device used to take wild animals, wild birds, whether they result in taking or not, and includes every act of assistance to any person in taking or attempting to take wild animals or wild birds

IF....IF a hunting license is required for the person WITH NO GUN ( I'm not attempting to answer that), is a harvest record required also??

Only if you're JohnnyLoco, with a real possibility of scaring one to death.

I can't remember - if your wife or guurlllfrand is sitting with you but she isn't hunting, does she have to have a license?

If she has to have a license for hunting even if she's not hunting while sitting with you while you're hunting deer or turkeys, and deer/turkey hunters are required to have a "harvest" permit, why would she not be required to have a "harvest" permit, too?

Well, that's the easy, common sense answer but.....
