Very true. I know this may sound crazy, but after reading about it on here, I have been standing in smoke before hunting and it has helped tremendously. I do all my scent elimination stuff first, shower, deo, etc....then go stand in a smoky mix of leaves, grass and pine straw. Goofy, but if it's working I'm all for it.

It's tough to bow hunt in January, period. Ain't enough greenery for cover. I've been slow to accept the "smokin up" scent plan, but recently I've become more convinced.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

I'm just glad a turkey can't smell. Me too.
Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

If you havent tried Deer Calm, I can say that I have had excellent results with it. It comes in a stick dispenser similiar to your deodarant and you just rub it on a tree or two near your stand or even on your stand. It smells just like a deer and I have seen good results first hand.

???? makes you smell like a forest fire. natural I guess I figure most deer in the state smell leaves burning from yards, or chimney smoke at some point during the year.

Our deer should be used to the smell of Miller Lite. Hate to waste any though.

Talk about getting busted!!! It's frustrating when deer bust you in the opposite direction they should bust you. Dang if the wind doesn't swirl wherever I hunt! It's all about the parts-per-million of scent molecules and I try to cut down on them as much as I can.
Regarding smoking, I wish anyone smoking would quit that habit as I see the results of long-term smoking everyday in my field of work.
My mother is a former smoker but quit back in 1982. She's 86 now and going strong and can run up a flight of stairs! Some of her friends however, continued to smoke and died several years ago via a long, horrible death on oxygen equipment and were bed-ridden for many months.
Smoking kills and it also takes the "lead out of your pencil!!!!" If you know what I mean?!?!
