Just got back from a three day hunt at this place and was very disappointed. Website was very misleading. Saw a total of 16 deer with the biggest a 1 1/2 year old 5 point. Says "seasoned guides" but one guide was their electrician and admittedly knew nothing about hunting. Only time I saw the outfitter was the 4 times he collested money. Would never reccomend these people. At least he didnt molest the money. That would have been weird. Thank goodness he didn't collest you though.

Great job welcoming a new member guys!! Keep up the good work.
Welcome to Aldeer, sorry for the bad experience you had with that paid hunt.

Welcome to Aldeer, sorry for the bad experience you had with that paid hunt. Yeah, I apologize. Welcome to the site. Didn't mean to come off too harsh. You just happen to one of several I have seen lately to make their first post into a bashing of a company. it is a pet peeve i need to work on. Again welcome. If you haven't already read the new members thread.

I figure people get upset badly with someone and there first response is wanting to vent a little.
Perhaps not the best way to deal with things but comes natural for some folks. I would suggest if you was unhappy about a hunt to talk to the outfitters first and see how they respond.
Welcome to the board and hope this isn't your only post. Come back and hang out.

How much did the hunt cost? I googled them, about 1900 bucks.

I'd be pissed off too.$1900 and the biggest killed was a 1-5 yr old buck ! By the way his first post may keep some other member from making that mistake. I guess he should have blown Rebelman a kiss on his first post. Hows that reb ?

Well, it looks like Rebel was the only one with the balls to call it like he saw it. I'll contact Tatum Creek and ask them if they know Mr. Billy Ward and if they'd like to offer their side. By the way .... you are not anonymous on the internet.

Well, this is my neighborhood, so I will have to put my two cents in.
1. I know the owners, but not well, so I can only say they seem like good people. Usually if you are scum around here I would know it and I've never heard anything bad about them. Plenty of good things however.
2. You were hunting some amazing land. There is not much better anywhere period. It is all about timing and being lucky. Right now alot of people in this area are getting frustrated because the weather has not encourged doe movement lately and the bucks are with the does. There have been a couple of good days, but overall it has been very hit and miss. You just didn't hit it at a lucky time, unfortunately. No matter how good it is in this area, it is still called hunting and not called shooting.
3. There is no excuse for a client to not feel like an outfitter and/or guide did not do all they could for the client to be happy. On the other hand I know from my good friends in the area who are outfitters/guides, there are some asses that you will never make happy no matter how hard you try. Just make sure you are not a person with unreasonable expectations before you negatively affect someones living. If they really didn't do all that was reasonable for you to see deer, eat well and be comfortable, then blast away.
4. Next year I would recommend the Morgan Academy Charity hunt. The land is just as good, the people are great, and it will cost you less money. I know all of us involved in it do all we can for the hunters to have a good experience and want them to come back. Plus it is for a good cause, namely the education of several Aldeer member's children.
Welcome to Aldeer!
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.
