I think paintrock has it. Leaves like red, bark like white= pin. Aliot of times folks will call a willow oak a pin oak. The above pics are what a real pin oak looks like. Pin oak bark does not look like that. No red oak has flaking gray bark. Pin oak has gray bark, with rigid furroughs in it. It’s a new species. Fixing to be called the SBS oak after I get my local botanist out here.
