It doesn’t matter the wind speed or the drama with the weather channel. It was a bad storm and caused damage to a lot of people’s livelihoods. My prayers go out to everyone

Please do.

I talked to my daughter in law just now and she and the kids are safe and are sheltering at a hospital for now. Their house is severly damaged and everything is soaking wet but they are safe and that is what matters. I talked to my son about 10 last night but the cell service was so sketchy I could barely understand him, he was ok then and trying to make his way home we haven't heard anything from him since then pretty sure he is still ok just doesn't have any comunication.

Glad they are ok. I went theough flooding from Katrina(but I had evacuated). The loss of material possessions, especially unreplacable stuff like pictures and home movies is heart breaking, but safety of life is most important. Community will come together and be stronger than it was before.

These are times when the love of God is truly shown by complete strangers. However, unfortunately, the news doesn’t typically cover that stuff

I just got to the Nuclear plant. It took an hour and a half to make a 30 minute drive. There is a lot of damage even this far inland. The are I saw was 10 miles from where the eye passed . We don't have a power line standing. Multiple house with trees on them. It was a lot worse than I was expecting. It looks like well be without power for a while

Glad they are ok bward.

My dad is in Mariana. All access towards st joe is shut down. First responders can’t get down there until trees and power lines are cleared. Hopefully tomorrow. I’ll give a report and maybe some pictures tomorrow or Saturday. Leaving Tennessee now, grabbing chainsaws and generators in Bham.

My kin is trying to get back to PC but they are being told that the Bay county Sheriff isn't letting anyone in at the moment. Family in Dothan said it's really bad there as well. I've also have been told that I10 is closed around Jackson county coming West. Not sure about East bound traffic.

They have closed a big stretch of I-10 until debris are cleared.

As of 6:45 a.m., the interstate had reopened in places. All eastbound lanes of I-10 are closed from US 331, mile marker 85 to the Appalachicola River at mile marker 160. All westbound lanes are closed from the Appalachicola River to SR 77, mile marker 120.

My folks just stopped in Defuniak Springs heading up 331....said it was slow but passable.

My manager was able to get in and got to his house in PCB to find lots of downed trees and fences some minor roof damage to his home. Said his neighbors had more extensive damage to their roofs but things are not a total loss in PCB. He cant get to our office in PC as Hathaway bridge is still closed.

37th St. Mexico Beach, Fl. before and after. Gonna miss the pier and condos. They were going to add on to the pier.....guess it will all be new now.

I was just wondering if we are all in agreement now that michaels destruction is that of a category 4 hurricane?

We stayed at a little house on 35th street a few years ago. I was looking at that video and another on youtube and the house is gone. Nothing but a concrete slab.

Yea it’s just a little tropical storm. Nothing to fear here loco

Not what I meant at all. My point was we are seeing more than a 50% variance between reported winds and what the actual on ground data says. There has to be an explanation. I'm betting that is the difference. It doesn't matter what the wind speed is. Sure 145 is a lot worse than 70 but any sustained wind over even 50mph for several hours is going to do a lot of damage. I was in south FL for business right after Andrew and there was nothing but concrete slabs and piles of rubble where hundreds of houses were standiningbweeks earlier. I mean nothing left but the concrete foundations. It was terrible destruction like you've never seen.

I know very little about buoy data, but perhaps they aren't able to transmit data when wind speeds or seas get too rough. They could end up under water when near the eyewall for all I know. There's probably a reason they fly planes into hurricanes rather than rely on devices on the ground.
