I always carry except during rifle season most of the time. I figure my rifles will kill just a fast as my pistol Unless you are carrying an AR as a hunting rifle with an aim point or EOTECH i would say carry your pistol no matter what. Gonna be real hard to hit something with a bolt action rifle with a scope in the situation you need to defend your life... Those are usually close quarters and with a variable zoom scope that is going to be useless IMO I am confident enough in my training that I am just as deadly with my rifle as I am with my pistol......I went thru building after building in the big sandbox in operation iraqi watch carrying an M-4 with an acog scope, but to each his own ....I aint mad at ya for feeling you need added protection in the woods
Let them walk ...and grow them big
